To Victor, the
word organic doesn't just mean that a product is grown without the use of
chemicals. It means meeting a strict set of guidelines set by not only the
USDA but also Victor Packing standards.
Our raisins are produced
differently than ordinary non-organic raisins. For instance, Victor
Guaranteed Raisins are grown in soil that has been chemical-free for at
least 3 years prior to crop harvest. We fertilize with only composted
organic materials and green manures, instead of synthetic chemical
fertilizers. Weeds are controlled by hand or mechanical methods and
insects are controlled by the use of predatory insects instead of chemical
insecticides. And we sun-dry our grapes... in the field.
Complete Multi-Residue Analysis
Victor Packing doesn't believe
in doing anything half-way. That's why our Multi-Residue Analysis (MRA)
program is among the industry's most extensive. It starts with our
laboratory equipment. The equipment used by most organic food processors
can only detect chemical residues above 0.2 to 0.3 parts per million. That
means they can't distinguish the residues of such common chemicals as
Bayleton and Roundup, which by California Organic Food law must have
residue levels no higher than 0.1 and 0.2, respectively. Our equipment at
the National Food Lab can find minimum detectable levels as low as 0.05
parts per million! That means you can trust the quality of Victor
Guaranteed Organic raisins...and so will your customers!
